Fasteners

(OP)
We use the Solidworks toolbox to insert our fasteners.  My question is, when we do that what is the best way to ensure the fasteners are always there after moving the files around on our network?  Is it best to make a copy of the fastener and save it with the other files in the assembly?

RE: Fasteners

We found that saving our toolbox files on the network to be best.  That way it always opens properly for everyone.  By setting up your options to check the file it also lets you know if the fastener already exsists.

Where is the option to check the file to see if it already exists?  That may be an option for us.

RE: Fasteners

go to www.solidworks.com and find hte multi-user guide for installing TB on the network.

the toolbox.ini file points to where you have installed TB at. If that that file isn't pointing to the server then you see below

C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\Toolbox\toolbox.ini

There is no way to determine if it was installed, unless you know who installed it or talk to your IT dept.

RE: Fasteners

Go to the Toolbox pulldown, browser configuration, document properties.  Set always create a copy.  Specify a network drive location.  If your using PDMWorks exclude elements of this file from being loaded.
