How to make measurements associative, and display highlighted element?

How to make measurements associative, and display highlighted element?

How to make measurements associative, and display highlighted element?

(OP)
I want my part measurements to be associative - that is, when I rotate/translate a part, I want the measurment to tell me if I've made the right move.

Additionally, I also want to highlight elements when I select them.  By default, the element edges highlight.  I want the whole element. (for tasks such as split and intersect - much better display method, especially when zooming in close)

I can't seem to be able to find this in the options.  As it is, I've worked in the past on someone else-s pre-set config, and never had to ask the question.

Thank you.

For measurement you can toggle the keep measurement if that isn“t what you want you can use the create geometry option and there choose with associativity.

To highlight just the surface toggle the surface typr icon in the "User Selection Filter" toolbar

No, that's not what I mean...

When I'm using the compass to obtain a "measure between" value, I get a message box says, "The measure is not associative.  The result is copied as a value."

Additionally, I want the value to update when I make a compass move. (that's the whole point of the associativity)
