Target type flowmeter

(OP)
What is your experience with Target type flowmeter?  I've used them for flow switches, but not flowmeters.

A hot oil heater vendor wants to install one in their system.  We would like an orifice with DP cell.  Startup is this weekend and it shows up with a target type flowmeter.

Does fluid density affect the accuracy?

RE: Target type flowmeter

You have to correct the calculation from DP to flow according to the oil temperature (Density)
Flow = K * Sqrt ( DP * Density)
if you know the flow at specific DP and Density,  you can only correct according to the sqrt of the change in density.
Personally, I prefered to use Vortex Flow meter for hot oil if the size of pipe is 6"  or less.
