Setting Rotation Point in V5

Setting Rotation Point in V5

Setting Rotation Point in V5

(OP)
Greetings All,

Here is a newbie question that I thought would be found in other threads. How can I set the rotation point in V5? I know your suppose to use the Shift key along with the middle mouse button, but I'm not doing it right. I can see the locator, and I can reposition it, but when I release the mouse, it zooms into the area were I was pointing to. When I re-fit the screen, the rotation point still is way off. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

P.S. ... After spending 10+ yrs. on V4, I am really starting to like this V5. Just wish the classes would start.

RE: Setting Rotation Point in V5

The Shift + MB2 is for zooming into a region.
For setting the rotation point\spin centre click only MB2.

RE: Setting Rotation Point in V5

I usually set the rotation point just by using the middle button on any selectable geometry.  I guess that's what you mean by MB2, though, eh?

If you've been using V4 for that long, the zoom/rotate feature in V5 should be a pleasure for you.

I can't believe how awkward V4 feels now, when I use it.  I actually FORGOT how to set the rotation center in V4 for awhile, and it seems like so much more work, even now. (having to use that F3 key)

THanks guys .... awesome.

RE: Setting Rotation Point in V5

Yeah, that's what I mean.
I thought I remember the DS training or online docs using MB1, MB2, and MB3 so I thought I'd be consistent.
