Does anyone have any spec's for this material R301W I belive it was a Reynolds product. It was used by Repbublic Aviation in the late 40's. What I'm looking for is a material to replace the 301.

RE: Old type of Material

The document you need is called ANC-5.  This is the predecessor of Mil-Hnbk-5 and MMPDS.  I have a hard copy of this and looked up R301 for you.  The new designation is 2014 clad.  I think the W is a heat treat condition (I could be way off on this).  W condition is unstable (right after quench).  The ANC-5 document lists R301-T6 sheet and plate per QQ-A-255.  Ftu-65 L-dir, .040-.499 thk, A-basis, Fty-58, Fcy-58, Fsu-39, Fbru-98 1.5ed, Fbry-81, E-10.4, Ec-10.6.

Sorry but I couldn't find an internet source for ANC-5.

Hope this helps.  If you need more info let me know.
