putting x-sections hatching on layers

Does anyone know how to put hatching on layers so it can be blanked for a stupid engineer, or how to totally eliminate them from a view. He only wants them in certain views. God I love my JOB.
Thanks
Tim

RE: putting x-sections hatching on layers

I've never had the need to turn off hatching but often I just space it out.  here is a thread that might be of some help.  thread554-39693  I believe you can place X-sect hatching on 2D elements layer.  Throw the book at him....ASME y14.5

Thanks I think that will work. I don't think this engineer knows how to read and he is deaf when it comes to listening on how to do things the right way.
