PDF grammar book for English

Dear friends,
Could you help me to find a PDF grammar book for English?

Regards
Jili

RE: PDF grammar book for English

If you want a lighter look at English punctuation try

Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss
ISBN 1-86197-612-7

It's funny and makes the point, at least I thinks so

RE: PDF grammar book for English

Eats Shoots and Leaves is probably my favourite book at the moment but unfortunately you need to understand the nuances of the grammar to fully appreciate it. Once you have found your reference and feel comfortable with English grammar, I can't recommend it enough.

RE: PDF grammar book for English

Eats, Shoots & Leaves is an excellent and funny book.  Try also "Troublesome Words" by Bill Bryson.

Jiligeo,

The (2) classic books of english grammar are "The Elements of Style" by Strunk & White, and for a little more rigerous presentation, "An Advanced English Grammar" by Kittredge & Farley.  Both are relatively inexpensive and have stood the test of time.

Dear friends,
Thanks a lot for your applicable answers.

RE: PDF grammar book for English

I have two books in my office that get quite a workout:

"Index to Modern English" by Thomas Lee Crowell
"The McGraw-Hill Style Manual" by Marie Longyear

I also have a thesaurus, which is simply a wordy dinosaur
