Spring on Shaft mating condition

Spring on Shaft mating condition

Spring on Shaft mating condition

(OP)
Hello,

I've got two parts: a spring & a shaft which I'm trying to align to each other. The spring was created with a helix & a sweep, and the shaft is just an extruded circular sketch. Each part has a datum axis & for some reason, I cannot highlight either one of them to align them to each other. I've tried the filter set to 'Datum Axis' and 'Any' with no success. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Spring on Shaft mating condition

hi

have you tried right-clicking the part and replacing the reference set to "entire part"? when you finish mating you can change the ref set back to "model".
