Large Sliding Spined Shaft - Design Information Needed

Large Sliding Spined Shaft - Design Information Needed

(OP)
I need design equations or helpful reference sources to design a large heavy duty sliding spline shaft and hub in a power train.
Peak torque is 582,000 ft-lb at 0 to 28.6 rpm. (About 3170 HP maximum.)
Shaft might be 16" to 26" diameter.
Spined Hub length could be 16" to 40" in length.
The hub will slide on the shaft up to 1" while operating.
The drive train will reverse periodically during operation.
Can any one help or point me in the right direction?

emery:

The best source I know for design information is a company that makes these type of parts.  They would probibly want to do the work for you but it might be the right choice.  I suggest you contact them.
