Allowable stress values for ASTM A193 Fasteners

Allowable stress values for ASTM A193 Fasteners

Allowable stress values for ASTM A193 Fasteners

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to calculate the joint integrity for a flanged connection at 1200 deg F per ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division II, Appendix 3, Article 3-1 .  I need the allowable stress values for ASTM A-193/ASME SA-193 Grade 8M fasteners up to this temperature.  I have looked in the ASME BPVC and the allowable stresses for the bolts in Table ABM-1 are only given up to 800 deg F.  Can anyone provide a table or reference to obtain these values?

Thanks,

aumechengr

RE: Allowable stress values for ASTM A193 Fasteners

In my experience, if a stress isn't given for a Code material past a certain temperature, then that material is not permitted for use above that temperature.

No, there are no allowable stress values published by ASME B&PV Code for B8M bolt material above 800 deg F because of reduced creep strength properties.
