Animation in UNx3

Animation in UNx3

Hi!

I want to rotate my assembly. What feature allows animations if any. I want to drive a wheel over rollers and get them to turn. Can I export to Pro-Engineer which has more features.

RE: Animation in UNx3

I disagree with your statment that Pro/E has more features. Even if it really does, usually the identical feature in UG works easier and is more reliable.

UG has a Scenario for Motion module that should allow you to do what you want.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

I have seen the motion application but seems to be difficult to figure out. Can you please give me a few pointers as how it actually works. As I select a compoment then it tell me class but doesnt progress any further.

RE: Animation in UNx3

1. Make sure Assemblies is enabled (Application > Assemblies, or Ctrl+Shift+W)
2. Use Reposition Component (Either go to Assemblies > Components > Reposition Component, or use the Reposition Component icon on the Assemblies toolbar...  it's a box with two << >> looking things on a diagonal...)
3.  If your part is properly contrained (see Assemblies > Components > Mate Component...) and it has only the rotational DOF left, then you can rotate it in assembly mode.

Did that help?
