Instrument Bearings

Instrument Bearings

(OP)
I am looking for information on bearing supports for a miniature shaft through conical tips on shaft ends.  I have seen these on gyroscopes and clock gears.  Don't know the name of this type of bearing more any supplier.  Can be plane or ball.

Anybody got any ideas?

RE: Instrument Bearings

these are jeweled bearings, usually sapphire, and they are available as stock items.

RE: Instrument Bearings

I have seen this application as ball bearings in a suppliers catalogue but can't rember which. It was a long time ago. Jeweled bearings I feel would be too small.

RE: Instrument Bearings

Barden Bearings makes gyroscope bearings...

RE: Instrument Bearings

search on "precision miniature bearings"
and you should find many sources.
