Help with DC-DC boost converter/voltage regulator

Help with DC-DC boost converter/voltage regulator

(OP)
I need a boost converter that will be able to power about 30 to 40, 3.6v 20ma LED's using a 2.4v (2 NiMH) battery source. I've seen a couple, leaning more towards the MAX1674 but am worried about the output ma limit. I would also like one that could have an on/off switch that I could attach a photoresistor to turn them OFF in the light and ON in the dark. I know there are probably a ton of options to doing this, but has anyone had similiar experience with such and know of anything reliable/tested to work?

Thanks for the help!

I actually have also been looking at the LM2621 and LM2623... it seems to maybe more suitable for my application... anyone have any ideas?
Appreciate all the help!

RE: Help with DC-DC boost converter/voltage regulator

The LM2623 looks like the ticket - add a
photo-transistor and schmitt-triggered
driver to the ENable input.  You would
probably want to change the feedback to
be current-driven.
