Gear Teeth Profile Creation Suggestions

Gear Teeth Profile Creation Suggestions

(OP)
Is there an easy way to make an involute curve for a gear tooth?  I am having one heck of a time figuring out formulas for a gear tooth in metric.  Does anyone have the formulas in a file that they could send me?  Also whats the easiest way to create this in UG NX2?

Thanks for the help.

RE: Gear Teeth Profile Creation Suggestions

I'd probably grab Machinery's Handbook, and create a sketch to define the gear tooth profile.  There may be a grip out there that would do it for you too, or a "part family" part.

Everything should be designed as simple as possible, but not simpler.
