need information on HPT - helical probe test

i have used this method in the past for foundation testing.  i am wanting to familiarize my engineer with it (i am a geologist).  is this method ASTM?  are there any cooralations to DCP or others?  any information would be greatly appreciated.

Helical Probe Tests: Initial Test Calibration" by Yokel and Mayne in Geotechnical Testing Journal Sept. 1988  Dr. Mayne e-mailed it to me and it came with an ASTM ID when I click on it, but i don't know if it was reviewed.  Here we use 3/4" and divide in-lb reading by 5 to get SPT correlation.
