Jacketed Expansion Joint

Does Section VIII Div I Part UHX cover jacketed expansion joints?  I have a jacketed expansion joint on the discharge of a TFE that the client is requiring "Code-Stamped".  Just looking for a starting point for my design basis.

Thanks,

Brad

RE: Jacketed Expansion Joint

Is the client requiring that the pressure boundary of the EJ to the process be code stamped, (which would require taking into account the attached jacketing) or just the pressure boundary of the jacketing medium itself?

RE: Jacketed Expansion Joint

The internal and jacket need to be code stamped.  Internal FV-50psig@460deg F and Jacket to 450psig@460 deg F.

Thanks,

Brad

RE: Jacketed Expansion Joint

I'd suggest re-posting this thread in the ASME (mechanical) Code issues thread.  I have my own thoughts about how I would go about it, but the people there are experts, and will know the answer.
