Weldment - Relative view/no faces

Weldment - Relative view/no faces

Weldment - Relative view/no faces

(OP)
I have a weldment part with a body that I'd like to show a separate view of (the body alone).  The body is a simple 'donut'--a wire bent into a circle.  I know to use Insert... Drawing View... Relative to model, but there are no planes to select to orient the view (and to identify the body).  Is there another way to do this--a relative view of a body with no faces?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,

Brian

RE: Weldment - Relative view/no faces

Some people put a small flat on the body so they can select a flat face for the relative view.  In the drawing, this "face" will look like a line.  You can hide these edges so they are not visible.
