UG License Server

UG License Server

UG License Server

(OP)
Ok, i need information on how to setup aUG License server. This means i want other computers to get thier licenses from me. Im setting this up for a corporate client that wants to be able to issue licenses to peope that he is going to contract work out to as well as have computers from inside the building to use them. I have little to no experiance with UG.

If anyone knows where to point me to get to an FAQ or if you have set one up yourself, i would love someone with any information what so ever. Even if the information seems rudimentory, please share.

Thanks to everyone that actually took the time to read my question and plea for help. And Especially thanks to anyone with information =)

RE: UG License Server

Have you tried calling GTAC to get help?  If you're up to date with your monly maintenance, they should be able to help you out.

RE: UG License Server

You could google FlexLM to get an idea of how it works.  It is used for more than UG.

RE: UG License Server

There is a system installation manual that comes on the Documentation CD.

How are these other users going to be accessing the network to get to the license file on your computer? Will it be set up with VPN protection to keep unauthorized users from accessing the licenses?

UG Flexlm licenses are issued against the NIC card address of the server computer.

UG access the licenses through port 27000@host_name set in an environment variable on the clients.
