ID clearance U-tube Heat Exchanger

(OP)
I need to carry out a drift test to verify the minimum ID clearance (parlicurarly in the bended portion of U-Tube bundle)by pulling a mandrel (ball) of known size through a lenght of heat exchanger tube.
The question is that I do not know the formula to be used for the determination of the size of the mandrel (ball) and the standard from which has been extracted.

Thanks for your help
V.Federella
