Howdy! I have an excel file with a layout drawn in autocad 2004 lite, attached. In excel 97, I opened the file and tried to double click on the layout to bring it up on autocad 2006 but came up with this "canot start the source application for this object". Does this mean I have to have autocad 2004 lite to open it? Please advise..thanks and have a great day and a great weekend!

RE: Open autocad lt 2004 dwgs in autocad 2006.

I am not sure. Can you start your AutoCAD 2006 and drag and drop the drawing on it. AutoCAD 2004 through 2006 should be compatible BTW.

Good morning..I tried that trick and it came up with this error "cannot insert autocad drawing as an OLE object". I'm still scratching my head on this one. Thanks for the help though.
