AutoCAD 2000i plotting problem

AutoCAD 2000i plotting problem

AutoCAD 2000i plotting problem

(OP)
I have a user with custom paper sizes setup in autocad.  The problem he is having is that sometimes when he opens a drawing his custom sizes are there but when he opens a different drawing they won't be there.  I know that the plotter setups depends on the drawing in question, but my user swears that before I did my 2000 to 2003 server upgrade the custom paper sizes were there for every drawing.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

thanks

RE: AutoCAD 2000i plotting problem

AutoCAD has 3 ways to set up plotter drivers. Windows (system) based, "My Computer" based, and Network based. Usually windows based gives you the least flexibilty, because all settings totally rely on the system printer settings. We use network based which gives you a combo of windows printing and AutoCAD control. The issue we had with some people is that the same printer can be set up two ways in AutoCAD. Plotting to a system printer lacked any user sizes. The network based allows you to input custom sizes that your printer allows. You should check this first.
