Silica removal in presence of boron

Thanks in advance
I'm looking for any information re: removal of silica (as SIO2) reactive or non reactive in the presence of boron leached from boraflex materials in fuel pools. Have heard that some mining companies have had sucess using specialized adsorbants.
Any help
Regards

RE: Silica removal in presence of boron

Suggest you contact (n,p) Energy, Inc.  Alburquerque, NM.  505.888.1996. They are working on that problem.  Toward a similar end, (n,P) Energy recently deployed a solution involving proprietary resin with high selectivity (in presence of boron) for removal of co-58 during two recent PWR refueling outages - with incredible results.  Resin will soon be used in re-start to remove nickel/iron.  Silica removal is envisioned as next step.
