Modeling welding process - Moving heat source

(OP)
hi,

Being a new abaqus user, i'm trying to model a welding process. In this way, i'd like to make the heat source moving on the welded surface. I think i have to use the Subroutine DFLUX. But, how do i make the heat source moving with time?

RE: Modeling welding process - Moving heat source

Denis,
In DFLUX you know the total time and step time, and the coordinates of the point in question. Since you know the speed and the distribution of the heat flux you are applying, you have what you need to work out the heat flux at that position and time.
