V4 details and dittos in assemblies

V4 details and dittos in assemblies

V4 details and dittos in assemblies

(OP)
I am a fairly new user. I want to make an assembly drawing using dittos of the main assembly parts. how do I use existing models to make details in the current model (ie. without redrawing them in the detail space).   Can I somehow copy the solids from other models into a detail workspace in the current model?

RE: V4 details and dittos in assemblies

You're using V4, right?

You could COPY the solid to the Detail WSP, and then use MERGE to copy the detail(s) to your assembly drawing.

Or, you could save the details in a Detail Library, and then ditto them from there.

It would be much easier/better to use Sessions to overlay all the solid models to create your assembly.

RE: V4 details and dittos in assemblies

If you use the merge function, do not forget to link your sets. sets>link> "enter" to list.
