Wind Buffeting
Wind Buffeting
(OP)
I am investigating a flat structure embedded in a hole in the fuselage of an aircraft. Is there any literature out there that will help me predict wind buffeting?
I am concerned about rigidity as well as strength.
At some point, a qualified aerospace engineer will get at the this thing, but I would like be as close to reality as possible.
Thanks.

The flat bit will be parallel to the airflow. I do not know the other details. We are trying to work them out.
The hole will not be very deep.
Thanks.

RE: Wind Buffeting
Buffeting (of the airplane) depends on the size of the hole. Many aircraft fly with the doors removed so that parachutists can jump out. Compare that kind of opening to what you're proposing.
