phase analysis of a single turbofan blade

phase analysis of a single turbofan blade

phase analysis of a single turbofan blade

(OP)
Anyone,
I need to determine/ ineterpret phase information on a single turbofan blade in both the free and constrained state using spectra plus signal analyzer. I do not have a shaker table or stingers and am wondering if it is possible to record two seperate signals at two different times in mono then merge this data to investigate the phase differences at certain frequencies. Additionally what info should i expect to gain from testing of an individual blade rather than the whole static bladed disk assembly?

Any suggestions appreciated in advance.

RE: phase analysis of a single turbofan blade

JSCHEEL15:  I believe from what you are saying what you need is modal analysis equipment.  A modal analyzer will give you mode shapes and frequency information.  I am not sure what you mean by phase information on one blade unless you are looking at the relative dispalcements on different part of the blade.  Several companies make modal analysis equipment such as Spectral Dynamics/Genrad/and others.  I suggest you talk to them about your needs.

Regards
Dave
