Need clear temp resistant composite

Need clear temp resistant composite

Need clear temp resistant composite

(OP)
I'm looking for a clear composite that I can use in a solar collector. It needs to withstand temp ranges of -50F (winter exterior) to +300F (summer interior) and be UV stable. All those I've looked at previously have huge expansion factors over this range and, therefore, represent a problem in gasketing to get a good weather seal. Structure is approx. 6'x8'.

Thanks.

RE: Need clear temp resistant composite

Why does it have to be a composite?  Have you looked into polyphenylsulfone, polysulfone and other engineering thermoplastics. You can get some ideas from the BP Chemicals site at  www.bp.com

I would imagine the gasketing materials and design should be something from the same materials family or fluoro- elastomers to accomodate the temperature range you cite.
