Hello!

All you UG CAM users out there:how do you handle
switching coolant on-off?Should it be separate field
in Machining data library?Would you submit or support enhancement request?

RE: Coolant on-off

I'm pretty old school. We still use GPM for posting. As such, I prefer using Mill Control operations that contain the startup, toolchange, coolant, and  even toolist instructions. While it seems clunky, it does reside in the nc part file so you can be sure of correct output.

RE: Coolant on-off

You could write your own code to retreive data from a modified tool library.

Done that for a customer works very well.

You can source the tcl code used for library searches in the tool database.

Already got post example from UG BBS,but I'm considering this as a workaround.
It's easier to maintain one tool in library and different cutting conditions than same tool twice:one with coolant and other dry.
