Cosmetic Thread Callout

Cosmetic Thread Callout

Cosmetic Thread Callout

(OP)
Is there a way to change the callout that SW gives me when I use the "Add Cosmetic Thread With Thread Callout" option for a tapped hole in the hole wizard.  For Example, using the hole wizard option gives me "1-12 Tapped Hole" where as if I use the Hole Callout button on the annotation toolbar it gives me "(Diameter)0.9219(Depth)2.2499 (New Line)1-12 UNF-2B(Depth)2.000", which is the way I want the hole wizard callout to display.  Is there a way to change the hole wizard callout to match the annotation toolbar callout?

RE: Cosmetic Thread Callout

Probably the only way to do this is with some type of API call that could get the depth of the tap drill and then modify the cosmetic thread callout.  This API would have to be run anytime the tap was changed.  It would not be automatic.

RE: Cosmetic Thread Callout

Have you tried customizing the Calloutformat.txt file?

RE: Cosmetic Thread Callout

I have looked through the calloutformat.txt file and couldn't find a definition for the call out derived from the "Add Cosmetic Thread With Thread Callout" in the hole wizard. I saw the definitions (<MOD-DIAM> <hw-tapdrldia> <HOLE-DEPTH> <hw-tapdrldepth>;\
<hw-threaddesc> - 2B <HOLE-DEPTH> <hw-threaddepth> for example) for all the various tapped holes with cosmetic threads using the Hole Callout button from the toolbar.

RE: Cosmetic Thread Callout

All tapped hole callouts come from the Calloutformat.txt file. When you add a cosmetic thread you must use a standard. That is the first location of the callout you are looking for. The information you have provided isn't enough to determine what callout you are looking for.

But the info you are looking for is coming form that file, its a matter of you determining where and which one it is.
