Roadway Design Standards For Los Angeles and San Francisco
Roadway Design Standards For Los Angeles and San Francisco
(OP)
Does anybody know where I can get roadway design standards and specifications for Los Angeles and San Francisco? I am out of the country but need that information for another project we are working on.
I'm looking for information such as:
- right of way width
- pavement width
- design speed
- min/max grades
- overhead clearance
- minimum safe stopping sight distance
- etc.
Thank you!

RE: Roadway Design Standards For Los Angeles and San Francisco
Both cities may (should?) have websites with this information. Alternatively, you could start with the Caltrans "Highway Design Manual," which is the defacto standard for many local agencies in the state. You can download the HDM by chapter at http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/oppd/hdm/hdmtoc.htm.
