Can I us a batch file to open a STEP file?

Can I us a batch file to open a STEP file?

(OP)
I looked in all the load directories of Pro/E 2001, and Wildfile and I can not find a Batch file to translate STEP file(s). I have step file that takes a long time to translate. I know why - Pro/E is having trouble with some surfaces. I takes 2 hours or more to translate. I need to doing other things using Pro/E.  Anyone got any suggestions?
thanks Texaspete
