Levelling spreadsheet.

Levelling spreadsheet.

Levelling spreadsheet.

(OP)
The contract I’m working on is entering a new phase, which calls for a lot of levelling to be done on 804 and black top levels.
Is there any spreadsheet available on the web where I can just enter the readings and the results are instantaneous? I tried looking myself on the net, but have made little success in finding anything.

If not how would one write the commands for linking the IS to the BS and FS and then do a change point?

RE: Levelling spreadsheet.

Roadbridge,
Can you describe what you need in generic terms? I am sure most readers of this thread are not familiar with the "lingo" and formulas of your profession.

RE: Levelling spreadsheet.

I don't have a spreadsheet but it shouldn't be too hard to create. This spreadsheet would be for surveying ground elevations, based on rod readings.  BS is backsight, FS is foresight, IS is intermediate sight, which are heights above ground (rod readings), read using a level line of sight with a surveyors level.  You start with a known ground elevation, then get an instrument height by adding the rod reading at the known elevation point(a BS reading), then get ground elevations at new points by subtracting rod readings (FS's) at those points.

You might want to post this in the "Surveying & Geomatics" forum as well.

This is an example of what i'm doing.

    A      B      C      D      E

    2.000            12.000    10.000
        0.750            11.250
        0.360            11.640
    2.500        1.500    13.000    10.500

Column A Back site.
Column B Intermediate
Column C Fore Site.
Column D Collimation H.P.C
Column E Reduced Level.

Col A is added to Col E to get Col D. Col B is the subtracted from Col D to get values for Col E.
At Col C there is a change point and Col C is subtracted from Col D to get a value in Col E.
Col E is then added to Col A (2.500) to get a new H.P.C. at Col D (13.000).
And it repeats itself again when you change position again.

What I want is to be able to write the code at the change points at and link in to the new value of the Col D.

RE: Levelling spreadsheet.

Roadbridge, still not clear - your table above isn't lined up good enough. Describe as: Cell A1=2.00, A4=2.5, B2=0.75. etc?

RE: Levelling spreadsheet.

You need to use the [tt]mono spaced code tag[/tt] if you want to use spaces to line up columns. HTML ignores extra spaces.
