File translations S-E to ACAD & 3DS-Max

File translations S-E to ACAD & 3DS-Max

(OP)
I need to translate a fairly complex model from S-E to 3DS-Max and to ACAD (file-std 2000). I want to send both as discrete solid components, and as a single large model.

Any suggestions?

Thanks-
C. Fee

RE: File translations S-E to ACAD & 3DS-Max

First export out as a parasolid file.  Then import back into Edge using a part template.  This will merge all the parts into one big part.  Then export that into the filetype you want in order to get the single large model.

Just exporting normally should result in discrete components, but that depends on the import routine of the other software.
