Material Appearance

(OP)
Something strange is happening this morning, when selecting a material for a part the part turns black no matter what material I use. I save the model and reopen and it's back to normal. I updated to 4.0 yesterday but from the first of the week before updating and still showing, I was getting a white borderless box around the menu pulldowns File, Edit, View etc. I have found this happening in other applications as well. I assume this is a Windows thing and don't know if it's related to the material problem I'm having. Thanks for any responses.

SolidWorks 2005 SP4.0

RE: Material Appearance

Check the video drivers for your video card, because there have been some updated ones. I was getting some strange video issues with my card. I had to uninstall the old ones and reinstall the new ones (after reboot of course) that fixed most of my stange video issues.

Scott,

Should have looked there first. 7/18 new driver... Seemed to take care of the material appearance but still have the annoying borders. When something doesn't look right you start to doubt the integrity of your system. Maybe this will pop up on someone else's system.

Thanks.

RE: Material Appearance

If you are seeing this on other apps, then the problem isn't SW. Check with IT to see if they did any updates lately. Note what you have changed about your computer in recent weeks. Look for SPAM or virues on your System. This issue maybe a direct result of windows, since you are seeing on other apps
