Will AutoCAD recognize a scanned schematic?

Will AutoCAD recognize a scanned schematic?

Will AutoCAD recognize a scanned schematic?

And if it does can CAD convert it into a "workable" drawing?  Any input would be great.

Thanks,

RE: Will AutoCAD recognize a scanned schematic?

You have to get a raster to vector converter, and they usually are pretty messy.  You can find some for free or trial to check them out.  Go to any cad mag site and you should be able to poke around and see some.

Thanks for the input WMO.  I downloaded the freeware and tried it on some schematics.  Looks like it works with simple drawings.

RE: Will AutoCAD recognize a scanned schematic?

I found with these converters, they only work ok with simple drawings but really bad with your average ones - better off getting them traced.
