Custom menu in Catia V4

Custom menu in Catia V4

(OP)
Hello!

I've got text file (*.dcls) which will add some buttons to my Catia menu but my catia menu is in $HOME/db/$USER±±KEYBUSER±±±±±±±MEC.user
and
$HOME/db/$USER±MEC.user
and these two files are not text files.
Can anyone tell me what to do to add new functions to my menu?

TIA

RE: Custom menu in Catia V4

Hi,

The dcls files can be edited with a normal text editor. You can open very easy even under Windows, edit what you want, and after you will save your work you can change the extension from txt (if its happened to be changed automatically from dcls to txt) in dcls.

I'm just curios. What do you want to add in the menu? You can use also metafunctions but you have also to edit (add) some new lines to dcls files.

Metafunctions can be also created automatically in CATIA. I know all these from another CATIA user which was on this forum but I don't know if he is still "here".

Anyway, are you sure you have write access to those files? Because, as far as I know, in some big companies (like Airbus, for example) you can't do nothing (no modified dcls files, no buttons, no pull down menus, nothing else than usual stuff in v4, not even to use metafunctions).

Regards
Fernando
