adding features to a "join" part
adding features to a "join" part
(OP)
I just created a part using the join command in an assembly. I now need to add some fillet features to the new "join" part at the intersections of the original parts. For some reason the join feature does not combine the separate bodies into one body and the fillet either does not work (due to there being separate bodies) or the fillet is applied to only one of the bodies with incorrect results. I really see no difference benefit of a "join" part since it is no different than an assembly other than the icon in the feature manager tree. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

RE: adding features to a "join" part
Exampl: take to circles and make them tangent. The point at were the 2 circles touch is actually a point and SW cannot extrude of combine 2 bodies that are only touching on a point. They must either overlap or touch at more than a point in space.
Geometric condition could mean simply the geometry is to complex to merge it into a single solid body.
If you don't learn the reports you will never get through SW.
Contact your VAR maybe they can help you resolve this issue.
