Adding "fin" to a piece of angle

Adding "fin" to a piece of angle

(OP)

Desire to add a extension fin to 2x2x1/4 6061-T6 aluminum angle.
Butt weld, lateral width say 12 inches, and a 4 to 1 slope(weld 48 inches long).
HAZ with expected to be 0.5 inches on both sudes of the weld.

Any advice or book/reference material on this?
Thanks.

Sorry - "sudes" should be "sides".
