Steel coupling

Steel coupling

Steel coupling

(OP)
We are inserting valve on 16" CI Sewer FM and proposing Style 62 Dresser coupling (CI to DI transition coupling) on each die of ex. FM.

My question is if pipe line is buried then can I use Dresser Style 62 (Steel MJ adaptor) coupling. Would it be vulnurable to corrosion? Do I need to specify any treatment/wrapping for Steel Coupling

Any suggestions?

RE: Steel coupling

Talk to your local water utility. All their old mains are CI. They may have a better idea and may even sub contract this for you. Don't bury the valve body. Construct a manhole over it. 25 years from now the new owner and maintenance people will bless you.

Sorry I was not clear...

We are proposing MH on valve but since line is too deep don't want to include MJs within MH (from cost point of view)

My question is...will Steel Coupler will do okay if it is buried from corrosion point of view

Thanks
