Since this material is not endorsed by ASME B&PV Code, it is not permitted to use for pressure retaining components.

RE: astm a 252 use in pressure vessel

If you are asking for allowable stress values, you are on your own. You have several options, which depend on your application. I would use extreme caution if you intend to use this material under any pressure retaining capacity.

RE: astm a 252 use in pressure vessel

tolga11,

metengr is right. A252 is not listed in ASME Section II Part A. Therefore, we should not use this material for pressure retaining components.

RE: astm a 252 use in pressure vessel

the use equivalent ASME accepted material would be wise and it cost the same,
ASME requires an extra testing, and most of the pipe mfrs have dual pipe stencil, so your pipe may aalready be accepted ASME contruction if the stencil shows the accepted spec.
the stress in that pipe is the same as erw material so it is in the 12.8 to 14.6K
