SHEETMETAL

(OP)
IS THERE ANY GOOD WAY TO DO "DUCTING" FLATTENED LAYOUTS WITH THE SOLIDWORKS SHEETMETAL PACKAGE?  SUCH AS CIRCLE TO RECTANGLE TRANSITIONS? I CAN MODEL THE TRANSITIONS, BUT I CANNOT SEEM TO GET SOLIDWORKS TO FLATTEN THEM OUT...IF NOT IS THERE ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARES THAT WORK WITH SOLIDWORKS THAT WILL DO THE MORE COMPLICATED SHEETMETAL FORMS?

RE: SHEETMETAL

If I remember correctly SurfaceWorks which is a solution partner of SolidWorks claims they can unfold complex shapes.

RE: SHEETMETAL

There is another SW Partner Solution, AutoPOL Unfolder for Windows.

It is a complement to SW if the customer needs unfold capability beyond what can be offered in SW. They can also unfold complex models and surfaces imported as SAT or STEP files.

Take a look at www.autopol.com to inform you more. You may down load PPT files and software and get a free trial for 14 days.

Hope this helps
