how to put excel column data into SW 2D sketch ?

how to put excel column data into SW 2D sketch ?

how to put excel column data into SW 2D sketch ?

going on from my CMM question...

if i've got 2 excel columns of x and y data - whats the best way - if at all - of getting it into an new sketch with selectable points.
I've got an add-in program that puts the data into a 3D sketch - but the points are non-selectable when converted to a drawing. - and i can't convert the 3D sketch to 2D .
likewise - if exported to DXF/DWG/EDwgs.

i need to make a drawing of the part, then dimension tfrom the point to the surface.

Tricky, huh ?

RE: how to put excel column data into SW 2D sketch ?

You can import points through XYZ points. See the help on this feature.

However I don't think it will give the point locations, it will just import a sketch curve using those points.

Tried that and it doesn't do what i want.

a) i've got 500 rows of data and it wants me to insert one row at a time - duh- way too time consuming.
b) tries to fit a curve - i just want points

Thanks, though.....

Again check out the help, because if you read through the help you can import in an Excel file, just not an xls file, it's a *.CSV.

Read the help and you will understand this better... duh
