Dimensioning DXF imports

Dimensioning DXF imports

Dimensioning DXF imports

(OP)
Hello All,

I may have stumbled across a bug in solidworks. My VAR is looking it a bit further for me. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.

What I am trying to do is import a DXF file to a drawing and then dimension it. However when I dimension it does not display the dimension value just the extension lines and arrows. I know in the past I was able to do this without a problem. Do any of you have a similar issue? If so I would like to hear about it.

Also if anyone has a workaround for this please advise.

Best Regards,
Jon

Check your font size, perhaps?

Tick,
Sometimes it is the simple things that complictae things. What is funny is that it only changed the dimension's font size.

I imported the DXF in mils and then once in a solidworks drawing I changed the units to inches. It then changed only the dimension size to .000018 which is pretty darn small on a D-sized drawing.

Anyways thanks for your help. A star for you!!

Best Regards,
Jon

RE: Dimensioning DXF imports

I've had dimension font size problems when dimensioning an imported DWG (I think it was DWG, and not DXF).  Never got it resolved.  Just redid things until they turned out correct.
