SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

Why is it EV?  Isn't that short for evaluation or something?

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

It doesn't show 4.0 as released. 3.1 is the latest

Yes.  But the download should be the full SP release.  (There must have been a 4.0EV release as well, so there is an option for upgrading from that SP as well as the previous SPs.)

Whoops--started typing before macduff's post was visible.

I didn't see SP 4.0 listed in the SPR fix list page, but the SP I downloaded was 4.0 and not 4.0EV.

Not sure yet.  Still working on a project, so I've neither installed it nor seen the release notes.  For what it's worth, what's new isn't supposed to be disclosed publicly, so we'll need to wait for the relase notes to be published or to install to find out.

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

SP 4.0 is released as of yesterday. I wonder why I didn't see it when this thread was posted?

Anyone running it yet?

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

There are quite a few fixes in the latest SP. I have read through a few of them but don't really have time to read all of them. This is one of the bigger SP releases I have seen so far.

One noteable feature I found with this SP is that the measure tool now has a pink selection box, which enables you to see what items you have selected.

Cool.  I'll need to put this project to bed and install the SP.  You'll need to update your sig line.

So far so good......

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

This has got to be one of the biggest SP's in some time, I counted over 300 fixes.

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

Macduff,
We are using SolidWorks 2005 SP4 with PDM Works 0.0
It has been stable for us, although I do crash every now and then.

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

Got mine installed, but where do you find out what the differences are? The only mention of it that I could find is only 4 paragraphs long, and there must be more to it than that.

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

Had some strange issues with hatch patterns since upgrade
Example opened an existing drawing to find hatch pattern has changed angle in some views
Any one seen this??

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

I have not had that but hole callout quit working.  Calls all holes and taps as geometry.  Have not done a lot of investigation yet to see what the problem might else be.

RE: SW 2005 SP 4.0 Released

Yeah!   You can now see the numbers for "spacing" and "number of instances" in the pattern of a PART in an ASSEMBLY.  This problem has been brought up a couple of times, so I thought I would mention that they fixed it.
