HELP!! With AutoCAD LT 2002

HELP!! With AutoCAD LT 2002

HELP!! With AutoCAD LT 2002

(OP)
Hi,
Have a query with regards to AutoCAD LT 2002.
I am needing to do an inventory on some of the blocks I have in my dwg.
I know it can be done with 'Autodesk Architectural Desktop' in a wizard. But now need to use it in AutoCAD LT 2002 as the office only has this software.
So was wondering if anyone has used this before in LT or if there are any add ons that would be able to do it.
Thanks again
Natalie :)

What do you mean by an inventory?
The design centre will tell you what blocks are in your drawing. (Press CTRL-2)

I am wanting to count a specific number of blocks in my drawing.
What I'm having to do is a furniture inventory. I am updating an interior plan with furniture (blocks) i then want to count how many ie. chairs there are etc.
Thanks
NAtalie

One more question!
Do you mean, for instance, I have one block of a chair, and I need to know how many times I've used it?
Or do you mean, how many different blocks of different furniture have I got?

RE: HELP!! With AutoCAD LT 2002

Right, I'm assuming you want to know how many times you've used a particular block, and that got me curious so i've been trying to do it myself. I came up with this method.
First, you have to know the name of the block.
Go to Tools>Quick Select.
Make sure 'Entire Drawing' is selected at the top.
In 'Object Type' choose 'Block Reference'
In 'Properties' choose 'Name' (it's down the bottom)
Make sure 'operator' is 'equals'
In 'Name' type in the name of your block
Make sure you're in 'new selection set' and hit OK.

You'll now select all the blocks of that name in the drawing, and the command line will pop up with
'x number of items selected'.
X is the number of times you've used that block!

I have a jpg image of a sign that I want to incorporate into the autocad file.  How can I insert this jpg into an autocad file, plot the file and show it to my client?

RE: HELP!! With AutoCAD LT 2002

All you have to do is copy and paste the .jpg.  But once in AutoCAD you have to use Paste Special under EDIT. and select .JPG.  If you don't do this you most likely will lose information on the .jpg and the resolution will be off.
