Newb to Carbon Fiber

Newb to Carbon Fiber

(OP)
ok, so I have been working with fiberglass, making some custom pieces for various cars, and i am very interested in getting into carbon fiber, however I don't know much about the process used to make it. Does anyone happen to have any good links, or can you explain the process used to make and cure CF pieces? i have searched the net, but haven't found any useful links.

From what I understand, it is very similar to making fiberglass parts, only you need to bake the pieces to cure them properly. Are the same resins and hardeners used to make carbon fiber as are used for fiber glass? thanks for the help.

RE: Newb to Carbon Fiber

You can use all the same resins for CF as for GF reinforces composites.

The curring process is resin dependent, not fibre dependent, as it is the resin that actually cures.

As carbon fibres are much more expensive than glass fibres, it might pay to also spend up to get the best resin for the job.
