We're considering investing in a PMI instrument.  Does anyone have any experience with Spectro PMI instruments?  The model I'm looking at is a TXC01.
thanks,

RE: PMI

The choice of equipment depends on intended application. In case analysis of Carbon and Phosphorus is not an issue, you must seriously consider equipment working on X-Ray Flourescence. During the last five years, these equipments have gone a sea change. You no longer require Isotopes.

The advantages of X-ray flourescent equipment are many. Most striking advantages are:
-Lightweight of gun and usability under all conditions
-Does not generate an arc or a spark, which means that you could use it in an operating refinery, etc.

RE: PMI

I have had very good experience with the Spectrosort and Spectroport PMI equipment for field PMI work. They are especially useful when light elements are required to be examined; e.g.,aluminum alloys.

We, like rkg, have purchased x-ray tube XRF PMI equipment, which more suits our general purpose needs.

Thanks, guys.

In our case we want to be able to check for Carbon and other elements.
