Scour Depth for Augercast Piles on Beach

Scour Depth for Augercast Piles on Beach

(OP)
Last year in Florida I saw most of one beach dragged off in a hurricane. I usually neglect the top 10 feet for scour for buildings along the beach with pile capacity design, which is a local practice approach. Anyone know a more formal reference to substantiate this local practice? Is that too little (10 feet)? All piles are augercast piles along the beachs, state mandated.
