Toolbox, when I insert a screw-error-"drop file error"
Toolbox, when I insert a screw-error-"drop file error"
(OP)
error: the toolbox part file 'c:\programfiles\solidworksdata\browser\ansiinch\bolts and screws\socket head cap screw_ai.sldprt is currently being modified by 'myusername'. Please try again in a few moments.
I dont have the file open. this happens only in a specific group of recent assembly files. I went and started a new assembly file and insert the same screw with no problem, in the same session. I've checked the design library default directory setting in both assembly files and they are the same. Does anyone have any idea of what's happening, or how to fix it?

Also are you sharing this toolbox with other members in your group? If so, it is strongly reccomended that you place it on a network somewhere.
Hope this helps!!

Try unselecting this option under Toolbox browser in the pull downs

RE: Toolbox, when I insert a screw-error-"drop file error"
We are runnin SW05 SP4.0... I can insert fasterners into an assembly that has no fasteners fine no problem. When I close the assembly and reopen and add fasteners I get the warning file is read-only do you want to see the file? When I answer yes the system crashed, when I go with no nothing happens.
This happens with External References read-only checked or not checked doesn't matter. The only way I can get a new fastener into this assembly is to load it lightweight. This is fine by me, but I think when I do this the configuratios do not get saved as well as the attribute infromation we are inputing doesn't get saved. This was the only reason for convertingover to a shared folder so we would only have to input our information in once and only once.
Can someone please offer a plausible solution to this that doesn't involve the downloading the next SP? We do not have the luxury of doing this as our IT Dept dictates what we should be using in ENG.
Thanks
