I have been in plant operation for quite some time and now trying to learn about HYSIS and PRO II, if you can guide me or let me know how to start learning
thanks

RE: HYSIS & ProII

They are nearly the same kind of software using in process simulation. If you have known one of them, it is easily to learn the other. In refinery, does not mind which one to start with. The more you use it, the more details you will find. No software is absolutely perfect.
To start, first you need to know what kind of the structure of the software. then it is good to learn the examples in their guide books step by step, which can help you to know how a simple process is simulated, and how it is structured.

Petrokemya

Your question is much too broad to answer in this forum. You have to attend some courses provided by the vendor - and most importantly to have tasks after these courses where you use the software. It uncommon that a facility (or company) uses more than one package - so you have to find out what paclage your company uses.

And before attending classes: You have to have a sound knowledge of thermodynamics in order to use the software and interprete the results.

Best regards

RE: HYSIS & ProII

Hello,

All packages of simulation PRO/II; CHEMCAD; HYSYS; PETROSIM; PROSIM. Have a manual in the files. If you want learn, I recomended Chemcad first, is very easy. Find any process with all parameters and operation condition and treat to simulate. Is not easy explain here. Treat to simulate something and send me questions.

RE: HYSIS & ProII

As a beginner, you need to get a training course by the vendor or your company if it has a facility for this. I assume that you know thE basics of thermodynamic, material and heat balance. Once you get a training, you should do your steady state simulation for the plant you are working at, with the help of your experience colleagues as you need much information and data to establish the simulation and running it. I suggest that you do the plant simulation unit wise, and then integrate all the units.
I recommend using PRO as it is friendly user and common used. AspenTech is also powerful and much advanced.

I hope this would help you.
